Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Queens County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained for the time needed to read and answer it. We keep that correspondence within the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers may receive routine technical details about the visit:

- Page-view timestamps and time spent on pages
- Pages viewed during the visit

The website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal files.

Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by the provider's policy, including its retention and sharing rules. Those practices are outside our control, so visitors should review the provider's terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links lead to NYPD and NYC portals, Queens court pages, New York agencies, legal resources, and outside tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy policy controls. Review it before providing personal details.
Advertising providers may use their own technology to track activity across websites for targeted ads. That processing occurs on their systems.

We do not sell personal data. Limited information may be available to:
