An Arrest Is Not a Conviction
An arrest record does not establish guilt. Prosecutors may decline or change charges, courts may dismiss or acquit, and a booking entry does not state the final result. New York records can later be corrected or sealed, so an old copy may misstate current legal status. Verify the disposition with the Queens court that decided the case or, for one's own fingerprint record, the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services.
A record is a starting point, not a verdict. Only its official custodian can confirm the current contents and whether they remain public.
