Requests for official Queens County criminal records go to the city or state office that keeps the source file. Court clerks, NYPD, NYC DOC, DOCCS, and DCJS each hold different records and use different request channels. The contacts below route court papers, police reports, custody information, personal fingerprint reviews, registry questions, and record-sealing matters to the government office responsible for them.

This Is Not a Government Office. Queens County Criminal History is a private reference resource. It cannot retrieve official records, conduct official checks, alter a record, or accept record-sealing filings.

Need an Official Record?

Choose the contact by record type. Queens County does not have a sheriff-run criminal records desk, county jail, or independent county police department:

  • Court case files: Queens Criminal Court and Queens Supreme Court Criminal Term are at 125-01 Queens Boulevard, Kew Gardens, NY 11415. For Supreme Court felony files, call the Main Record Room at 718-298-1400 or Annex Record Room at 718-298-1455. The Correspondence Unit is 718-298-1319; the Criminal Court general directory is 718-298-0888. Normal court hours are weekdays, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The criminal court case records page explains the court split.
  • Police and arrest reports: the NYPD Criminal Records Unit, also called the Verification Unit, is at One Police Plaza, New York, NY 10038, telephone 718-610-8457. The unit is not open for public pickup. Free Verification of Complaint and Aided Reports are returned by mail or email. Broader records use NYC OpenRecords or NYPD FOIL.
  • City custody and booking records: use the NYC Department of Correction Person in Custody Lookup for current city custody. Call 311 for the centralized NYC information channel. NYC DOC, not a Queens sheriff, operates local detention; a person may be held on Rikers Island even though the case began in Queens.
  • State custody and supervision: use the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Incarcerated Lookup for a state-prison record. NYC DOC and DOCCS are separate systems.
  • Personal rap-sheet review and registry records: the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services provides fingerprint-based Personal Record Review to the subject or the subject's attorney. Book through IdentoGO with service code 15464Z for a suppressed response or 15465F for an unsuppressed response. DCJS lists a $17.50 fee effective February 2, 2026. DCJS also administers the New York State Sex Offender Registry; for Level 1 or undetermined-level information, call 800-262-3257 or 518-457-5837 with the required name and identifier.
  • Record sealing: applications and court-specific questions belong with the court that handled the case. For a Queens Supreme Court certificate of disposition, contact Room E121 at 718-298-1319; the documented mail request requires the defendant name, indictment number, return address, and court fee.

The main Queens court complex is the Queens Criminal Courthouse, 125-01 Queens Boulevard, Kew Gardens, NY 11415. Police-file requests remain with NYPD, custody searches remain with NYC DOC or DOCCS, and fingerprint-based personal histories remain with DCJS.
